Go Cart Racing Guidelines

A go cart is usually driven by young children and teenagers. But these days, that is not the case anymore. Go cart racing has become a sport for all ages. Although you could not acquire a license for go cart racing and go cart racing in public areas would be illegal, many people are still involved with go cart racing.

This may be a sport for any ages, but go cart racing is not as harmless as you think. If you are about to give your child a vehicle for go cart racing, you should be informed in all the safety precautions. Read your go cart racing's manual and understand it.

If you haven't read the manual, here are basic guidelines for all interested in go cart racing.

1) Environment.

Since go cart racing is against the law, it could only be driven in your private lawn or space. Refrain from go cart racing in areas that you could possibly hit other vehicles, trees, or moving objects.

2) Check up.

Make sure that the oil and fuel level are exactly refilled. Adding of oil and gas should be done only if oil is necessary. Always remember to insect for leaks. Place the cap tightly after refilling gas or oil. Be sure to turn of the engine and wait for it to cool before refilling gas or oil. Gas leaks may cause fuel to burst into flames.

Testing your brakes is very important because if you do not have control of your vehicle, it could lead to major accidents. It is very dangerous to start go cart racing if your brakes are not functioning accurately.

For a safe go cart racing day, make sure to test out the condition of your tires. Check the pressure if it correctly set for a smooth ride to the course.

In checking the tension of the drive chain, make sure to lubricate if needed.

Always check smooth operation of throttle. Look for rusted or broken cable instruments. Do not go cart racing if cables are not yet fixed. Change the cable and connect it properly before continuing your go cart racing.

Make sure that the bolts, nuts and fasteners of your wheels are properly tightened in its place.

To be able to go cart racing without hassle, make sure that the steering wheel is operating properly. If it could turn without restraint, you could start go cart racing.

3) Safety Precautions.

Make sure that before speeding up for your go cart racing, you are wearing all the appropriate protective gear and clothing. A helmet is important because majority of go cart racing accidents are due head injuries.

4) Driving.

The first part of basic go cart racing is learning how to turn the vehicle. Turning maneuvers is important because the driver should be able to know how to modify the vehicle depending on his weight. He should know to how throttle to be able to slowly turn the go cart by using stable speed.

When the driver is faced by a situation where he is not able to turn his go cart, it may lead the frontal wheels to glide.

5) Exploring.

When you have learned the basics and you are now ready to go cart racing while experimenting different locations, you should still know what to do during worst scenarios.

Remember not to drive your go cart with elevated speed. In driving through slippery roads, make sure that the brakes are dry.

NOTE: Brakes are inefficient if it has been wet. This could cause fatal accidents.

6) Children.

Make sure that the child is physically competent in starting go cart racing. A kid with a weak heart may cause his heart to malfunction during high speed.

Before letting your child to go cart racing, limit the area in which he could drive. Establish boundaries where you could visibly see your child driving.

When the child is using the go cart for racing, never leave your child unattended. Make sure that there is always an adult to supervise the driving.

With these guidelines, accidents coming from go cart racing could be prevented. Any sport could be harmless, unless special attention and safety precautions are set and followed. Make sure that you follow them.
